16 Years of DesigntoDevelopment
Turning complex ideas into delightfully simple interfaces.
About
I'm Rob, a product designer who has spent 16 years making complex software feel simple, and a little delightful. I've led design teams as a creative director, rebuilt enterprise platforms for companies like AveriSource, Wolters Kluwer and Patriot Software, and today run Livingstones Studio, partnering with teams on products, websites and brands.
I care most about the small moments: the transition that explains where you are, the micro-interaction that makes a dull task feel good. I started out designing and building my own work, so I sweat the details all the way to code.

DreamtenSenior Product Designer2022–2024
At Dreamten I’ve worked on a variety of products, industries ranging from Web3 and crypto startups to the nation’s largest outdoor living firm. Data-driven solutions were developed through a combination of usability studies, business analysis, and product architecture deep-dives paired with thoughtful, strategic, and conversion-focused design.
Steadfast Design FirmCreative Director & Dev Lead2014–2021
I started out with Steadfast as a Senior Designer and Developer and was quickly promoted to Creative Director. I also served as the Development Lead for several years, but as the team grew, I stepped out of that role to focus on the design team. I had the privilege of helping build and train a small but passionate and skilled team while producing killer work. This was accomplished through regular design reviews, direction setting, client communication, briefings, creating proposals, managing budgets, conflict resolution, and many other things. As a full-service agency, I had my hands on product design, web design, development, app design, print, branding—everything.
FreelanceDesign & Development2008–Present
For over a decade I’ve been working with clients in a variety of industries (including universities, software, construction, photographers, churches, non-profits, and many more) to craft unique experiences and memorable brands through websites and a variety of digital and print pieces. Critically, this has been accomplished by working closely together with the client to understand their unique industry, challenges, and goals.

While with the Convention I worked with various ministries to promote their cause, events, and resources through both print, web design, and development. This included websites, email templates, brochures, posters, environmental design, t-shirts, web advertising, print advertising, presentations, postcards, and many others. I also served as a part of the Convention's Web Team which focused on user experience, intuitive design, and an easy-to-use authoring experience.
